😱 The Prince Had Loved Her When She Was Thin, but Rejected Her After She Gained Weight. Years Later, Four Masked Women Entered His Palace and Began a Strange Dance… By the Time He Recognized One of Them, It Was Too Late․․․😨

The music began shortly after midnight.

A violin repeated the same haunting notes while a slow drum beat beneath it.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

Then the ballroom doors opened.

Four women dressed in flowing white entered.

Their gowns shimmered beneath the candlelight, and all four had their faces hidden behind delicate veils.

Prince Alexander frowned.

That evening, the palace was celebrating his engagement to Isabella.

No one knew who these dancers were.

Still, the musicians continued playing.

The women formed a circle and began an old Italian court dance.

Slow steps.

Graceful turns.

Raised arms.

At first, several guests smiled.

Then the woman in the center lifted her head.

She was clearly heavier than the other three.

Alexander looked at her for only a moment before quickly looking away.

Isabella noticed.

“What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

But something about the dancer made him uncomfortable.

Her movements.

The way she tilted her head.

And especially her eyes.

They were the only part of her face visible behind the veil.

Suddenly, she looked directly at him.

Alexander froze.

Years earlier, he had loved a woman named Lucia.

They had once believed they would marry.

But as Lucia grew older, her body changed and she gained a great deal of weight.

Alexander became embarrassed by what the royal court might say.

One day, he told her,

“I cannot present you as my future wife.”

Lucia stared at him.

“Because I’m not the way I used to be?”

Alexander never answered.

Soon afterward, she disappeared.

He had not seen her for years.

Until now.

The music suddenly became darker.

The dancers changed their movements.

All four placed their hands over their hearts at exactly the same moment.

Then they stretched their arms toward the center.

Turned.

Stamped the floor.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

The guests stopped smiling.

“This isn’t a normal dance,” someone whispered.

Alexander was still watching the heavyset woman.

The other three moved around her in a circle while she remained almost perfectly still.

Then she raised her eyes toward him.

Alexander’s uncomfortable smile disappeared.

There was something familiar in that stare.

Something hurt.

Passionate.

Almost triumphant.

She slowly tilted her head.

Alexander’s face changed.

Lucia used to make that exact same gesture.

“No…” he whispered.

The dancer raised one hand.

The other three immediately copied her.

The drumbeat grew louder.

Alexander tried to stand.

His eyebrows tightened.

He looked confused.

Then frightened.

“Lucia…?”

Her eyes narrowed behind the veil.

Alexander took one step forward.

Then another.

Suddenly, his knees gave way.

Isabella screamed.

The prince collapsed unconscious as the music stopped instantly.

And while everyone rushed toward him, the four masked women began quietly moving toward a side door.

The heavyset woman looked back one final time and whispered,

“This time, he won’t leave me.”

PART 2

Alexander woke slowly.

For a few seconds, he didn’t know where he was.

The room was dark, lit only by several candles.

Cold stone walls surrounded him.

His head felt heavy.

Then he heard footsteps.

He looked up.

A woman in white stood in front of him.

The same woman from the dance.

The heavyset masked dancer.

Only now, the veil was gone.

Alexander stared at her.

“Lucia…”

She smiled faintly.

“So you finally remember me.”

He tried to stand, but his legs were still weak.

“What did you do to me?”

Lucia walked closer.

“Nothing that will harm you.”

Alexander looked around.

“Where am I?”

“In an old chamber beneath the palace.”

His expression hardened.

“You kidnapped me.”

Lucia’s eyes changed.

“You humiliated me first.”

He went silent.

She continued.

“You loved me when I was thin. You told me I was beautiful. You said you wanted to marry me.”

Alexander looked away.

“And when my body changed, you became ashamed of me.”

“Lucia…”

“No. Let me finish.”

Her voice was calm, but full of years of anger.

“You didn’t leave because I became cruel. Or dishonest. Or because I stopped loving you.”

She stepped closer.

“You left because you no longer liked how I looked.”

Alexander had no answer.

Lucia laughed softly.

“For years, I thought about making you love me again.”

Behind her, the other three masked women entered the chamber.

Alexander immediately tensed.

Lucia raised a hand.

“They won’t hurt you.”

“Then what do you want?”

She looked at him for a long moment.

Then she said,

“I wanted you to look at me again.”

Alexander frowned.

Lucia removed the last piece of jewelry from her veil and placed it on the table.

“I wanted you to remember the woman you threw away.”

Alexander lowered his head.

“I was young.”

“So was I.”

“I cared too much about what everyone thought.”

“And I paid for that.”

Silence filled the chamber.

Then Alexander asked the question he had been afraid to ask.

“Are you going to force me to marry you?”

Lucia stared at him.

Then, unexpectedly, she smiled.

“No.”

Alexander looked confused.

“I spent years believing that if I could get you back, everything would be fixed.”

She shook her head.

“But tonight, when I saw you looking at me with embarrassment again… I finally understood something.”

“What?”

“I don’t want you anymore.”

Alexander froze.

Lucia walked toward the door.

“I only wanted one moment where you were powerless to walk away from me.”

Then she opened it.

Light from the corridor flooded into the chamber.

Guards were already standing outside.

Isabella was with them.

Alexander stared at Lucia.

“You told them where we were?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“Because this was never about keeping you.”

She stepped through the doorway.

Alexander called after her.

“Lucia!”

She stopped.

He looked at her.

“I’m sorry.”

Lucia remained silent for several seconds.

Then she said,

“I waited years to hear that.”

Alexander’s face changed.

Lucia continued,

“And now that you’ve finally said it… I realize I don’t need it anymore.”

She turned and walked away with the three women.

Alexander watched her disappear down the corridor.

Isabella stepped beside him.

For a long moment, neither of them spoke.

Then Isabella quietly asked,

“Did you love her?”

Alexander looked toward the empty hallway.

“I think I did.”

He paused.

“And I think I only understood what I lost after she stopped wanting me back.”

By sunrise, Lucia and the three women were gone.

No one in the palace ever saw them again.

But from that day forward, whenever Alexander heard that same slow rhythm—

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

—he remembered the woman he had once rejected because he was ashamed of how others might see her.

And the night she returned not to win him back…

but to prove she no longer needed him.
